Hello,

I've created a drop down in sheet one from a list in sheet two and I am wondering if it is possible so that when you start to type something like the letter "P" into the cell with the drop down, the list will auto populate to the section of the list with all entries starting with "P".

Hope this makes sense!
Thank!

Hi,

Sorry about that, its for Data Validation.

Thanks!

Only the ActiveX ComboBox control has options that control is kind of display.

However, native Excel exhibits this behavior in cells, so that with a Data Validation List control, after you have entered a value in the column, the NEXT attempt to enter that value will trigger this behavior. Using this in-cell data entry feature with Data Validation List, you never actually use the DrowDown feature when entering data.

Is there an easy way to explain how to use the ActiveX ComboBox for my drop down instead of the Data Validation tool?

Thanks for the help Skip, much appreciated.

It will take VBA.

Please post your question in forum707 to get help with the ActiveX control.
