Hello! I have a question regarding Microsoft Excel (I'm using 2007). I have data in this format:

Code:
Store 1	Store 2 Store 3
Apples	Cherries	Apples
Grapes	Strawberries	Blueberries
Bananas	Bananas Grapes
	Blueberries	Tomatos

that I would like to put into this format:

Code:
. Store 1	Store 2	Store 3
Apples x x
Bananas x	x
Blueberries x	x
Cherries x
Grapes x x
Strawberries x
Tomatos x

My personal conviction is that this isn't anything new, but I don't know what this is called, and my search queries have been unproductive. Can you point me in the right direction?

hi,

I would use faq68-5287 to get your data into a proper tabular format and then use the PivotTab le wizard to report as you desire...

[pre]
Cnt Value Column
Value Store 1 Store 2 Store 3
Apples 1 1
Bananas 1 1
Bluebe 1 1
Cherrie 1
Grapes 1 1
Strawbe 1
Tomatos 1
[/pre]

Okay! Took a bit of tinkering, but that looks really good! Thank you!

I should probably mention that the 'Fundamentals Of Relational Database Design' in the FAQ is a dead link.

Oh thanks!
