Not having much success at creating a formula to calculate the age of a newborn in terms of weeks.

Using Excel 2007 and have the birth date of newborn as 12/15/2010.

Is there a formula available that will display the age of the newborn in weeks and fraction of a week?

For example, I would like to display in columns B and C, respectively, a formula to calculate the age in weeks using the two formats below;
1) 2 3/7 weeks
2) 2.43 weeks

Any assistance is appreciated.

Hi BxWill,

In both cases, the formula for a birthdate in A1 is:
=(TODAY()-$A$1)/7

To display the result as:
1) 2 3/7 weeks, custom format the cell as - 0 0/7 w\e\ek\s
2) 2.43 weeks, custom format the cell as - 0.00 w\e\ek\s

Using the formula to compare with the birth date will understate the baby's age in weeks.

I am thinking that I need to account for the gestation age by slightly modifying the formula.

For example, if the baby is born at 35 4/7 weeks on 12/10/10. How old is the baby, in terms of weeks?

I am currently thinking that all that needs to be done is
=(TODAY()-$A$1)/7 + 35 4/7

Thoughts?
