I'm using Excel 2003 and Edit -> Links is greyed out. Is there another way of viewing files linked to the spreadsheet? And also editing the files linked?

I already know that the file I'm working with is linked to an Access database (also 2003).

Any help gratefully appreciated

This kind of information could be only in files that reference given worksheet. The 'Links' menu item is active if you have formulas with external references (it is inactive for hyperlinks - separate dialog, or external data - query string or editor).
