A B C
3K-3-A 3K-3-A =IF(A1=B1,"Match","Different")
3K-5-B 3K-4-N
3K-6-D 3K-5-B
3K-7-L 3K-6-D
3K-7-N 3K-7-L
52-KR-1 3K-7-N

How can I compare a long list of items to see if column A matches column B. The formula in Column C works for numbers but not for numbers mixed with letters. Thanks in advance

The formula in Column C works for numbers but not for numbers mixed with letters.
... err, no, that's not true.

Is that you want to know whether an entry in column A exists anywhere in column B, and not just test aligned cells?

Cheers, Glenn.

Hi,

"The formula in Column C works for numbers but not for numbers mixed with letters."

WHAT?

The formula works just fine.
