Hi

In excel, when I try to use File>Send To> Mail recipient (as attachment)
the email window pops up fine but when I hit "send" nothing happens

I can create a new mail in Outlook, attach the file and send just fine
I can send the file in the body of the email - it just won't let me send as an attachment

Any ideas?

Rgds, Geoff

We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colours but they all live in the same box.

Hi, Geoff.

I didn't think the Grand-Master would ever have a question.

Have you deleted/renamed your xlb file?

Does CTRL/ENTER send the e-mail? If so, try detect and repair on your e-mail client.

If that fails, try setting a shortcut to outlook under Documents and Settings/UserProfile/Send To

BTW, hopefully your IE is set to the right e-mail client.

cheers for the response - CTRL+ENTER does send the email but ran detect / repair and no change

going home now but will remove xlb file (did check it but no sign of bloat) tomorrow

thanks for the advice

Geoff, If CTRL/ENTER works then you found your culprit, I think. Do the regserver thing on outlook and if that doesn't help try re-installing outlook.

Update - after re-boot the detect/repair seems to have done the job

thanks very much for the help!
