When I send a shared document to someone else but they don't open the document for a day or so, the date field in the header automatically changes to the current date. Is there a way to keep the first date until the document is saved by the new person? Without manually typing it.

hi,

Yes, but you must manually do it once as you record a macro.

Post back with your recorded code in forum707, to get help customizing to get the current date that will 'stick.'
