I'd like to put in a comment (but not really a comment) that pops up whenever someone clicks on a cell. I'd like it to be a definition box - when the user clicks in the cell, a box pops up explaining what goes in the box.

Excel 2003 (PC)
Thanks.

Why does a comment not work?

Have a look at Data > Validation.

Allow Any Value.

On the Input Box tab, you can make a custom tip message.

Data Validation - first tab Allow Any value - Second tab is where you put your message

Yes, that's it! Validation. I couldn't think of it. Thanks!

Is it possible that people who helped you remember Data Validation deserve a celestial object? like.... a Star?
