Ok ... here's the situation ... I have a column1 with several repeating names, what I want to do is create another, column2, with every distinct name listed (Kind of like the dropdown menu for the AutoFilter.

Any suggestions??

Data > Filter > Advanced Filter Tick the box beside Unique records only. This will give you each name listed only once.

Now highlight that column and go to Edit > Goto Click on Special then tick the box beside Visible Cells Only. Now only those unique names are selected.

Copy 'n' Paste to another row. Go to Data > Filter > Show All.
