Excel 2000 fatal error

I have Office2000 professional and recently Excel2000 has been US.Whenever I start it I receive the following:
a fatal error 0E has occurred at 0177:BFF9DBA7. The current application will be terminated.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Office2000 and upgraded it with all SRs
The OS is Win98. All other Office applications are OK. WIN98 is up to date.

Anyone got any clues?

Recreate the error. CLick details. Report back what is there.

I'm going to take a shot, though, without knowing any more and guess that you've got Norton 2002/2003 running. If so, you need to diable the Office Plug-In in Norton.
