I can't "paste special" when I "cut", only "copy".
I have cells with different colours that when I move contents of a cell, I only want the value to move, not the colour of the cell.

I have 18 rows of light grey row,2 rows of yellow, 18 rows of dark grey, 2 rows of yellow etc.

I don't really want to conditional format, and was hoping there was another way.

Hi,

I guess you are going to have to Copy A, Paste Special-Values B, Delete A

I would try to record a macro that works, post your code and we'll help you make to workable for your task.

How many of these operations do you have?

It can be done with the contents of a single cell, but that may get too tedious for your application. To do this, double-click on the cell, then select its contents, and click Cut, then when you paste it, only the contents will paste. Not much help, but it might come in handy sometime.

Would it help to customize your toolbar by adding the "clear formatting" button? Then...

Select desired rows
Right-click, Cut
Right-click, Insert cut cells
Click Clear Formatting button

Outside of a macro, I don't know a more efficient way of doing it.
