Hi all,

One of our users has a Windows 2000 machine, and she's trying to open an ASP page, located on our intranet, with the content type set to Excel, but she's having trouble accessing it (she's getting access denied to that page). This scenario works fine if we're on an NT 4.0 machine running Office 97, and we're all running IE 5.0.
Has anyone encountered this problem and if so, do you know of a workaround?

I would appreciate any help!

Permissions problem on the directory where the script (or excel file) is located.

Check the IIS console and make sure that either
(1) anonymous access is enabled (security hole)
(2) your user is a member of a group that has the proper permissions to that folder

Depending on what they are doing with the file, that will dictate what permissions need to be set. Read, Write, Execute... whatever.

good luck! :)
