We have a column that has project numbers and the first two digits are the year like
090234
080762
090276
090123
080873
070566

I set the autofilter but it shows each indiviual record
we are also autofiltering other column by Facility name and chemical type.
Is there a way to specify to show just 09.... or just 08...?

TIA

Hi,

Begins with in the custom filter

for a NUANCE![tongue]

In my Excel 2002.
I have autofilter and advanced filter.
if I click advanced filter it chooses the whole area of A1-R69.
then what do I type in to see just 09? Project number are in column D7-D69

I set the autofilter ...
In the AutoFilter for that column select Custom ... Begins With...

if I click advanced filter it chooses the whole area of A1-R69.
Of COURSE it does. Its a TABLE!

If you use the Advanced Filter, you need a CRITERIA range to enter the criteria for the specified column heading. Its a bit more involved than the AutoFilter.
