Hi all
The following situation may or may not belong to this forum.
But because the connecting host is HPUX and the problem looks like problem that Unix based people may encounter I am opening thread in this forum.
I am system Unix admin in Telecom Company. We replaced for one of the users in our company her pc to laptop and installed for her exceed. Since then she is complaining that when she leave her laptop untouched or ideal the exceed connection times out and she need to restart exceed and all the Xterminals .she complain that all the Xterminals disconnecting and stop responding. Other applications need no restart or anything special. The problem had been noticed only with exceed.
I suspected the first thing the windows power management and in control panel turned the sleeping mode to never. It did not help I also tried to check the exceed log found out nothing special .the user said that when she had pc there was no such kind of problems.
The laptop is IBM based and the connecting host is HPUX
I do not know even from where to start.
Looks like exceed/windows/laptop/sleeping mode problem but what can I check for?
I do not have any experience with laptop.
The exceed had been configured as usual for all the company peoples and there had not been reported any problems by other peoples.
Can it be something in bios or anything else?
Please advice
Thanks in advance

Sounds like you are on the right track. Ensure that her power scheme is set to Home/Desktop or Always On. Make sure also that her Network Card doesn't have power management enabled (Right Click my Network Places-->Properties->select her card->right click and select Properties-->Click on the Configure button-->Power Management-->Ensure that power mgmt is not enabled
Hope this helps.
