Example TAPI code

We recently purchased an Avaya IP Office 500. The TAPI stuff looks promising, even for a developer. I've looked at some of their code samples and, wow, what a mess. It seems like they throw whole ball of wax at you, and trying to find sample code that grabs an extension and dials out is either not there, or is buried. I appreciate that they want to provide developers with this, but where's the stuff for the beginner?

Ok, rant off. Does anyone have some sample code for my simple application, or a link to the simple SDK examples?
