I have "inherited" an application (with negligible documentation) that has linked tables to an external set of Foxpro tables.

Unfortunately I don't know how to examine the link itself to determine how it was established and/or on what criteria the link is built.

Any assistance you could offer would be appreciated.

Thanks,

To link tables to external data sources in Access, you go the File Menu-->Get External Data-->Link Tables and following the wizard...

the linked tables will show as tables with a Globe symbol instead of a table symbol in the Tables View.

Thanks for the input.

However, I do not need to create a new Linked table. Instead I already have linked tables as part of the "inherited" application.

In order to understand how the existing application is working I need to examine the existing Linked tables and see how they were created and on what selection criteria and/or fields it is working to maintain the Link.

Is there a process or procedure to use to examine existing Links?

Thanks,

I would assume that the links are just ODBC links...there is not much to examine as Access takes care of the links...

If you want to see what the app does, take a copy and play with it...have a look for code, check the modules, forms etc
