Hi

I am a Crystal Report Developer. I want to upgrade Query/Stored Procedure skills for reporting purpose. What about Exam 70-433: TS: Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Database Development or some other course
Any suggestion.

Thanks in advance

Hi

Can anybody give me an advice. How can I improve my skills

Bye

The exam tests your knowledge on SQL syntax plus a few other things. If you are used to write lots of SQL code, Stored procedures, SQL queries and so on, then it is right for you.

Check out the exam objectives for 70-433 on this site:

Hi

Thanks for reply. Can you/anybody tell me what book/material I have to follow to achieve this

Bye

No problem. Thats the first exam on the new certification for 2008.

If youre interested in doing the developer/dba exams, then consider the following:

Developer MCTS: 70-433 -> MCITP: 70-451
Database admin MCTS: 70-432 -> MCITP: 70-450

However there are no books available for the 70-450/70-451 so although its the more up to date certification, you may have to wait for the books.

The 2005 certs have all the books available though and these exams are still around:

MCTS -> MCTS -> MCITP
70-431-> 70-443 -> 70-444

You can look at this book as well (I'm biased as I wrote part of it).

Yes thats a very good book. I like the in-depth writing style of it.

The reason I listed the Microsoft books is that is what the Microsoft site recommend for these exams. Of course there will often be other books which are good for the exam.

I notice Denny that you are a networking guy who specialises in detabases. I am a programmer who has database knowledge. I have met someone from the other side ;-)

I'm actually a DBA who also deals with Storage, Networks, Servers, VMware, etc. But SQL is my primary focus.
