Good afternoon,
Sorry about the question, but I'm new in AIX.
Does anybody knows which command gives the exact system version and release?

thanks,
Hugo

I don't think uname gives the oslevel and maint level.

I would use oslevel -r

and if that isn't what I expect.

osevel -rl expectedoslevel-expectedmaintlevel

ex. oslevel -rl 4330-11

This will tell you what files are missing in order to have the ml 11 up to date.

hi,

#oslevel
#oslevel -r
#instfix -i|grep ML
All filesets for 5.1.0.0_AIX_ML were found.
All filesets for 5100-01_AIX_ML were found.
All filesets for 5100-02_AIX_ML were found.
All filesets for 5100-03_AIX_ML were found.
All filesets for 5100-04_AIX_ML were found.
Not all filesets for 5100-05_AIX_ML were found.

#instfix -icqk 5100-05_AIX_ML |grep ":-:"
this command return all filesets not installed or updated on your Aix 5.1 maintenance level 05.

cordialy.
