We are thinking about getting the Extrabyte VXA-2 and I was wondering if anyone had found a good backup solution for Linux that can backup over a network using something other then NFS.

Not so good vendor !
Mammoth2 was very bad solution.
VXA-2 I think is the same.

Bya.

With a similar condition in mind - the company I work for, using W2K, UNIX, LINUX, is considering changing from a Qualstar 4440 AIT2 Tape Library System (TLS) to Exabyte VXA2 1x10 units. IS there anyone out there that would like to comment on this move? The guiding power seems to be $'s per backup unit; 34K for a Qualstar vs. 4K for Exabyte. I would like to hear any/all thoughts on the subject. Even one using Qualstar 4212 AIT3 1x14 unit for 9K as compared to the VXA2 systems. Thanks for your words of wisdom. We ended up going with an HP LTO system. Very nice =) Works great.
