Exabyte EX8900 "last 3 errors"

I have a SUN Ultra 5 with one SCSI card. I have 3 EXABYTE EX-8900 Mammoth drives on it. One tape drive will give I/O errors in solstice and on the front LCD of the drive I get....

Last 3 errors: (1)8C 84 05 (2) 9D 00 06 (3) AD 00 00

The Exabyte website says contact manufacturer.....I tried another drive and it gives the same errors.....
