The drive won't respond. I have an Adaptec 1542 and an Exabyte 8500 8mm drive. The system sees the 1542 and the Exabyte drive on ID=2 on bootup. I can <ctrl>A to the setup and the diagnostics look okay. I went thru the "mkdev tape" and all looks okay. (I have done this sucessfully on previous systems). It's supposed to setup an entry in the /dev/rStp0; but it's not there. So when I try "# tape rewind /dev/rStp0" to test it, nothing happens. Do I need to manually change inittab or something else? I can put the 1542 and the drive in my old 5.05 system and it works PERFECT, so I know both components are okay. Thanks.
