Ex 5.5 SP3 X400 Conn UP and Down like a YOYO

Hello. . . .

I have a very strange one for anyone with heaps of exchange experience.

We have an x400 conn using tcp/ip to connect to a remote site for internal mail. I setup a monitor on this to make sure it was functioning correctly. our remote site says that nothing has been changed on the x400 side of things, but the conn is up and down, maybe 5 times an hour. sometimes it goes down, and not up for hours, and we get up to 4600 messages in the queue.

has anyone heard of this before. If you want more information, ie event log errors etc etc, i'll post them
