Hello. Is there any gadget I can use to verify if the credit card is a valid card as our systems is old and we are getting a lots of charge backs....I am thinking of splitting the system and looking at all the external options. Regards
At this time, until your POS comes up with an integrated solution, the best thing you can do is get an external card reader from your merchant services company. htey are not giving them away either. Some are charging as much as $500 for each device. Going old school and not have credit cards interface with your POS, the external reader would allow you to take cards with chips and avoid the charge backs. Sadly as more and more people (dirt bags) realize how easy it is for them to reverse a charge with just a click of a mouse, the industry is going to see more and more of these kind of charge backs. Its not fair and a real kick in the knees to an industry already dealing with Increased minimum wages, health insurance, increased payroll taxes, increased paper work and PCI compliance.
My personal opinion; if you have been paying your yearly maintenance/ software upgrades on time and your POS provider has not come up with a solution they knew has been coming for over 2 years, there is a great case for a Class Action Law suit for gross negligence. As a business owner you expected your POS provider to be on top of industry changes and adapt. They did nothing and almost 6 months since being instituted, they still don't have a solution and you continue to lose money because of their negligence. Find a good class action lawyer, force the Micros, NCR, Positouches out there they cannot just sit on their collective arses while there customers lose thousands of dollars every month.
If you agree mark as a great post. Send a message that you are not going to take it any longer. If someone knows of POS system currently out there that is Chip n Pin ready right now. Share with the rest of us. Promote business's who are customer focused and not dollar driven.
As most POS providers have restricted credit processing, MICROS has expanded who you can choose to use.
The driver used to process integrated credit cards is developed by the processors, not MICROS. I would not recommend a suit for a product they do not own.
MICROS has an EMV solution that has been available since last year.
