Evolution Through Firewall

I am having trouble pulling mail from a pop server using evolution- going through a proxy server.

I used gconftool-2 to set up all my proxy info. When I run evolution- on the summary page it has the weather info o.k. so I know it is getting out to the web. But when I try to pull e-mail it tells me the host look up failed.

The proxy server is sqid and I am running Evolution 1.4.5 on Fedora Core 1.

Can you resolve the hostname on the command line?

Try 'dig hostname.thing.com'

or 'host hostname.thing.com'
