Total weirdness in the table view: I rekeyed the table view on another desktop, possible another version, then reloaded it onto my office machine and have been using it for a couple of days since the updates. I want to add a field, so opened the table. It shows all 11,000 or so records, but onl on the bar. All fields are black. Attempts to change properties - fonts black and fields white - leave it the same. Anybody have a clue what happened?

Forms work hunkey dorey. It's only the table.

Yep! Works. I was wondering it it would solve the "Number out of Range" issue, but it doesn't. (No need, actually, but just curious),

That's my question. WHAT number out of range issue? Attempting to restructure an indexed table with a secondary key, no numerical fields and one date field seems to progress until it is hated at the end of the process with a "number out of range" error. That's all.

Oddly, removing the keys works. After restructuring it can be rekeyed again. With about 200 fields and 11000 records this takes some time, so it would be interesting to know what could be wrong.

Do you have VALidity checks on that table? Maybe a record has value out of range?...?

200 fields? What is the block size of that table? You may need to create a new table with higher block size setting in the BDE, and then copy your records to the new table.

And with 200 fields, the block size issue may be what is biting you. Except you shouldn't be able to rekey if that is it. Have you used Verify, and Rebuild to ensure (as much as possible) that the table doesn't have other 'issues'?

Haven't rebuilt, but I have verified. I reset block size. Can this be set for an individual table? No validity checks. I'll get back with the rest.
