Event Viewer Error: Event ID (2001) in Source (nsctrs)

I am receiving the following error in Event Viewer in duplicate consistently upon logon. This error occurs whether I logon to a network or to my local account:

"The description for Event ID ( 2001 ) in Source ( nsctrs ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. The following information is part of the event: ."


Windows 2000 is a fresh install. I have the latest service packs and all Microsoft patches/updates installed.


I hope someone can help me.

Here is some additional info on my hardware environment if it helps:

IBM ThinkPad R31, 1.13 GHz, 512 MB RAM.

Are you using Netscape? The error "Source ( nsctrs )" points to Netscape. Possibly upgrade Netscape, or uninstall it and reinstall it.

I am not using Netscape. However, I am using Netscape Server Products (Netscape Directory Server) for security in another software.

Uninstalling is not an option. I am using the latest version of Netscape Directory Server (v4.12) and this is a fresh install.

Do you have any more details?

Thats as far as I get. However, the source is indicating that your Netscape Directory Server (nsctrs is an ini file, do a search for it, the error may be caused because of a line in the script).
