Hello.

When I try to check anything on the event viewer on my windows 2003 server I get the message "access denied". I'm logged in as administrator. I don't know what can be wrong.

Can you help?

Thanks

Theo

Check the security settings for the event log files (c:\windows\system32\config\*.evt).
If the security is intact, (the logs may be corrupt) set the event log service to disabled, reboot your server, delete the .evt files, set the service back to automatic and reboot your server.

I all the above still says access denied when trying to access anything on the event log viewer.

Run REGEDIT and check the permission on the following;
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\EventLog
and all subkeys to ensure that administrators have full control access
