Hi All -

I have several perfmon alerts that I have setup event triggering to run a batch file when they are tripped. My problem here is all of the alerts fall under the same source: Application, Type and Event ID, just for different levels of percentages hit and monitors. i.e. RAM hits 70%, CPU hits 70%, each alert has the same origin:
Type: Information
Source: Sysmonlog
ID: 2031

Can I create event ids to accommodate a different monitor? Does anyone else have any ideas? Thanks!

Awesome! That works. Thank you so much!

I'm pretty sure you can use vbscript to write just about any event ID, but there are some limitations to that, like you can't define the source. It's been a while.

If you have PowerShell, you can write any event with any source and any description. I've only come across one issue so far, and it's pretty minor:

Plan for performance, and capacity takes care of itself. Plan for capacity, and suffer poor performance.

logevent.exe can also be used on Win2000-Win2003/XP
