I've tried exchange but no answer yet and I'd like to start this project. Anyone familiar with event sink? I am in need of fireing events based on email subject.

Greatly appreciate any info.

Thx

On the surface this looks like a cool idea, but actually implementing and supporting it will be a huge headache. This feature is typically in the AV software you use for your mail system (McAfee GroupShield, Trend ScanMail, etc...)

Here's a link to building an Event Sink for a legal disclaimer. Building a sink for a subject will be similar... http://support.microsoft.com/kb/317680

I recommend going with the first option.

Scott,

Thanks for your response. Any 3rd parties software that I might be able to use? Altought I don't have access to exchange fully, I can install a local exchange for event handling purposes. I need to find a way to fire events (software) based on contend or subject of the email. I've looked over the microsoft script but it doesn't look to be what i need. The script addeds text to the message based on the subject. I need to fire or run other software based on the subject line.

Greatly appreciate any info.

Thanks again.

Are you filtering from Exchange or IIS?

The link that I sent you shows that building an event sink is not for the faint of heart. If you're familiar with VBScript, you should be able to start your solution from there.

But really, I stand by my comments above about using the Anti-Virus / Anti-Spam software to do this type of event handling.
