What are the parameters used in Event Server?
Can we design a type tree with both fixed length and variable lenght?

can u please help me..

Sound like you need to spend more time in the documentation. Also look at the dstx.ini file (or mercator.ini for older versions).
If you ask the second question, you also need to take the basic mapping class from IBM. You can define elements independantly, however, if your group is to be fixed length, it can't contain variable length objects.

BTW what version are you using? Event Server parameters vary by version.

If you do take a class go thru the tutorial first.

Take a look at the Design Studio Intro and work thru the tutorial. It really doesn't take that long. After that create some simple files and related type trees. That should help a lot with the type tree question.

As far as the event server, looks thru the Event Server Reference Guide and look at some of the sample code provided, Should have been part of the install options.

Then play with your simple maps you created in the tutorial.
