I am running Mcafee version 4.5.1 an NT workstation here on our LAN. I have set Mcafee to auto update it's virus definitions and scan engine at start up. (Did this locally by going into the virus console and enabling Autoupdate at startup.)
Sometimes the workstation will not auto update and give the following error in the Administrative event log:
"AutoUpdate failed. Cannot create a temporary directory for downloading."
I can maually update with the "run now" option. (Also found in the Mcafee console under autoupdate and then the schedule tab.)
Why is this error occuring? The C: drive is FAT32 and has plenty of disk space, with default temp folders. Also the log files (in the network associates directory) are not full. McAfee's website is not produce any leads. Maybe I am looking in the wrong place. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
