Event Log Clean-up Necessary

Howdy All,
Had an interesting concern from a customer. She claims that she has a site where the system automatically shut itself down when the event log became full. Has anyone heard anything like this. I have never heard anything close to this.

I was told that it can cause memory allocation errors, but never heard of it shutting down system.

I can't remember the scientific law this is from but just because two events happen at seemingly the same time does not mean they were cause-effect related.

I would look at the actual messages before exploring the memory issues.
