I'm having FRS & DNS problems after replacing a network card in a Win2000 BDC. Printing services drop and DNS quits working on the BDC intermittently. I know it's not called BDC anymore but you probably know what I mean. Reseting the server seems to band-aid the issue but then a few hours later the issue(s) starts up again. I've had this problem before but don't remember how I fixed it....I looked around on the Net and found some repadmin information...but that command failed as RPC seems to be breaking too. I opened AD Sites and Services and changed the replication protocol to IP, hopefully that will help things. Any suggestions or comments are appreciated. Thanks!

Have you verified the that the FRS server is running? We had a problem very close to the one that you're discribing and it was that the FRS service kept hanging. We fixed the issue by reinstalling the service.

You might try to run net stop ntfrs and then net start ntfrs to verify that the service is working.

Here are some links that might help you with the event codes.

Hope it helps.
