Does any one what this means ?

I received this error after a fresh install of Backup exec 8.5

The backup Exec 8.x job engine service depends on the Back up exec 8.x device &media service which failed to start because of the following error:
The database specified does not exist ?

Could this be caused by the tape driver ?
I am using a Seagate dds4 (scorpion)

That was so long ago.
I believe is was a driver issue.
Maybe someone else has some input
