Event ID 3085 and sharepoint portal server 2003

Hi,

After changing the admin password for sharepoint portal server 2003 in AD, t
he sharepoint search facilty no longer works and the account keeps locking o
ut in AD. The server farm is split over 3 servers all using the same admin p
assword. I cannot find out what is locking the account out. Sharepoint is ru
nning windows server 2003 in a win 2k AD domain.

I get the following error message :

a valid username and password.

Hello,

Have you re-entered the new password in SharePoint Central Administration (if you are using the same admin account for all services in SharPoint)? I have had the same problems, the password has been changed in the A.D but it does not take effect in SharePoint, so I had to manually go into the Central Administration and update the password fields manually.
