Hi

Following a power cut where the battery units shut down the servers, the following has been appearing in the Application log on one of the servers

Windows cannot access the file gpt.ini for GPO CN={31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9},CN=Policies,CN=System,DC=domainname,DC=co,DC=uk. The file must be present at the location <\\domainname\sysvol\domainname\Policies\{31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9}\gpt.ini>. (Access is denied. ). Group Policy processing aborted.

The server with the issue is a 2003 RC2 SP1, theother being a 2K Advanced SP4. Both are DC's

The file is there and can been seen using \\domainname\sysvol\domainname\Policies\{31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9}\gpt.ini

The event normally appears every 5 mins but sometimes does not appear for a couple of hours

The event even occurs at night when all the workstations (about 50, mix of XP pro and 2k pro) are off

I can use the gp editor on both servers to view and change the policy, which replicates to the 2k server no problem and vice versa

I have been through KB's 290647 and 887303 with no luck

I have also tried allowing everyone full control to the sysvol folders with no change in the events being noticed

Thanks in advance for any help with this issue
