Event ID 1004, MsInstaller, when applying SR-1a

When attempting to apply service pack 1a to an Office 2000 Professional installation, I receive a box looking for the data1.msi package. I browse to the file, but it does not recognize it and the installation fails with the following Event:

Event Source: MsiInstaller
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1004
Date: 10/14/2002
Time: 12:52:58 PM
User: N/A
Computer:
Description:
Detection of product '{00160409-78E1-11D2-B60F-006097C998E7}', feature 'OfficeUserData', component '{C9AF9050-C8BE-11D1-9C67-0000F81F1B38}' failed

I am not using an administrative installation. I've seen similar questions posted, but no specific solution.

Thanks for any help that can be provided.
