Event viewer has been giving lots of event 10016 DCOM errors with a class id that equates to STORE.exe.
I tried to follow Microsofts link to fix this but this class ID or friendly name is NOT listed in the DCOM Config list.

I followed advice on the internet that suggested the class id or friendly name was misleading and actually it was looking for MSEXCHANGEIS, so I gave MSEXCHANGEIS permission to be launched by SYSTEM account.

Weeks later and I still get lots of these errors.
Anyone know how to fix it, and WHY it started?
After all it was working ok before so why would permissions suddenly change?

These errors are continuing- does anybody know how to fix this please?
STORE.EXE (or its class ID) is not listed in the DCOM list.
Also, whenever I open the component services and double-click on the DCOM Config I get several pop-ups about Symantec programs not recorded under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppId; I click Yes to record them but the next time I open DCOM Config, the same errors appear.

Why?

Thanks Network Tek,
This does look different to the Microsoft link in the actual event text. Perhaps using the registry will work where their old advice of using the DCOM editor doesn't.
I'll try it and update this thread.

OK, This morning I looked at the instructions more closely and I realsie this is the same link I tried before (the one microsoft points to in the event viewer).
This does not work because the class Id in the events does not appear in the DCOM config list at all!
{9DA0E103-86CE-11D1-8699-00C04FB98036} in the registry class ids says MSEXCHANGEIS under the LocalService key and it says STORE.EXE under the LocalServer32 key.

However I did find {9DA0E0EA-86CE-11D1-8699-00C04FB98036} in the DCOM config list and its properties say its service name is: MSEXCHANGEIS

I don't understand- is something corrupted?
Anybody seen this before?

Still no resolution to this- the class id does NOT appear in the dcom list, so I can't edit permissions.
Hasn't anyone come across the same problem before?
Other articles/threads that sound like this always sound like the classid appears in the list, so it's easy for them.
