Has anybody implemented or looked at event based scheduling of Powerplay Cubes? For example, start the cube load when a row on the source database is populated. Or start the load when a value is entered into the database table, such as a 'yes' flag to indicate the database jobs have finished.

Thanks,

Yes, but it is easier to fire it when a file is dropped in a location, that way your not running queries to check for values. If you use an enterprise scheduler you can setup the events to check for the file(s), or write a simple program to run and wait for it - then fire off the builds.

Enterprise Scheduler?? We currently use the standard cognos scheduler to start the loads.

By Enterprise Scheduler I mean AutoSys, AppWorx, etc (a scheduler that runs/monitors jobs on NT, Unix, AS/400, etc.). If you don't have one of these you can do it manually by creating a program that looks for the existence of a file, when it finds it "do something".

Hi

What would be the best Enterprise Scheduler on the market.
