The Security System detected an authentication error for the server DNS/prisoner.iana.org. The failure code from authentication protocol Kerberos was "There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request.
(0xc000005e)".

Occurs about every hour.
2003 Standard.
Workgroup environment, no AD.

Forward and reverse zones exist.
Host records and reverse pointers look fine.
DNS setting for the server is itself. Forwarders are local ISP DNS servers.

Any suggestions?

Matt

Please always take the time to backup important data and verify that backup, before making any changes suggested.

The only time I have seen this happen is when a service or application is try to resolve a hostname associated with a private ip, however, there was not a reverse zone configured for a private block so the request is sent off to the root servers.

Check your reverse zones on your internal dns.
