Hi,
I have a report with 2 groups:
Group 1 - Module
Group 2 - Individual

One individual can have more modules attached. Per module the indivual can have a pass or failed mark.

At the moment I can display these marks per individual per module, but I wish to count how many indivuals had a failed mark per module.

Trust me that I am unable to use the details section because of the complexity of getting the pass/failed results.

So ideally I would like to use a running total that evaluates for all Individuals on 'change of group "Individual"' and 'failed' and reset the count on 'change of group "Module"'.

Is this possible or is there a better way?

Cheers
JR

Try creating 2 formulas

Put Formula 1 in Group 1 header to reset count at start of new Module)
Formula 1 -
Shared Numbervar FailCount:=0

Put Formula 2 in detail section for Individual Group2 to count number of "Failed" returned):

Formula 2 -
If {field} = "failed" then
Shared Numbervar FailCount:=FailCount + 1 else
Shared Numbervar FailCount;
Shared Numbervar FailCount
