Partner ACS release 8.0
Mix of Eurostyle 2 and 1 sets, mostly 2's.

Client came in the one day and had a red light on the partner messaging module. They rebooted the system and all came back up.

However,

On most of the sets there is a problem with the display. They are missing pieces of the time, date, caller ID, etc. Some are so bad as to only have a few dots on their displays. I moved some of the malfunctioning sets to ports that were working fine and the sets are still malfunctioning, telling me I have a set issue.

Could a surge or strike have caused 20 out of 24 phones to have issues with their displays?

I have seen lightening do very strange things. Sounds like its the phones to me. If the trouble follows the phone, it sounds like its the phone. The only other test I would do is to plug the phone into a different ACS and see if the trouble clears. You can purchase the displays for around $10. It might be worth purchasing one and see if it fixes the issue. Here is a link:

I read somewhere that there was a run of Euro II sets that had bad displays. If they are still under warranty, replace them. If not, purchase replacement displays from the company jinxs provided the link to.

Will have to replace the displays. After this issue at this one client, I went to a few other sites that have the euro 2s. Same thing. The displays are missing pixels. Seems like a common occurance to me.
Granted, it gives me more business because it is easier to sell the replacement displays to the client than a new phone, but this is really disturbing.
Anyone else out there having the same issues?

Some early runs of the Euro II sets had their share of problems. The 2 primary issues were displays that lost pixels and bad switch hooks.

I just recently had two seperate clients, both barely out of warranty have this exact issue. Every single phone is missing pixels. It stinks that since they have had their phones for 18 months that they now have to replace 25 phone displays. Sounds like there should've been a recall.

A call to your supplier might be in order to see if they were aware of the problem and, if so, find out if they did send out notification about the issue.
