Hi People,

We have a centralised Nortel Option 81c in Brussels using 9150's and routing the calls the BT network (VOIP) and converting back to normal voice. The issue is that France have freephone numbers (0800) and when you dial the access code i.e. 92 800 xxx xxx you get a voice saying "this number is not in your dial plan". My question is; would there be any way that we dial a French free phone number from our Brussels switch and be routed back to Paris. Please note: this a local freephone number and the Nortel Switch is totally new 2004

Please Help.....

if its a 9150 on dialing end all calls originate at option switch and you cant ...if they were fiber remotes then yes your toll free and locals would use local trunks and everything else would go out over main option switch.if its just a few numbers than translate to the local number so you can complete call ...then again i am a norstar guy and what do we know

This is a difficult one to answer, because the message.."this number is not in your dial plan" must have come from the telephone service provider "COT" & not from your Meridian system.
The question is which country was it, as you have stated that you use V.O.I.P with a centalised operation. I assume that your call to a France free phone number, would be classed as an International number.
This could be part of the reason why you are not getting through if your trunk call is originating from another country.
"BT" in the UK also have free phone numbers that are "0800".
I would suggest that you try & get the call traced to determine what outgoing route is used & digits dialled.

All the best
