I'm running Mail Enable Pro as an e-mail server, and have several e-mail accounts running successfully. I can read them remotely via profiles set up in Microsoft Outlook 2000.
What I want to do is create a few e-mail accounts in the same domain and have clients read them remotely. They may have AOL's e-mail or other e-mail programs. What I thought I would do is set them up with Eudora and set up their profiles to read their e-mail from their PCs. In testing this, I downloaded Eudora 5.1 and set up a profile to an existing account that I know works. However, when I try to fetch e-mail from the server using Eudora, I get an error message:
"<Dominant>, Logging into POP server, PASS [09:19:54 AM]
There has been an error transferring your mail. I said: PASS <shhhh! Don't tell anyone.> and then the POP server (mail@domain.com) said: ERR Unable to log on"
I know I have the profile configured correctly, and used the correct domain, username and password. Could this be the firewall? Am running Norton Personal Firewall 2002. What's odd is that I can fetch the e-mail using Outlook.
I tried using Netscape Messenger to retrieve e-mail and got the equivalent error. Any ideas? Newposter
