I read a couple of posts on here and it looks to be something others have run into, but I want to reopen it and ask a few more questions.

As you may guess, I have a Magux 4.0.7 running 3 016ETR mods along with other mods and the complaint is coming in about clipping speakerphones and a tone or beep every so often.

Have come up with a known bad combination? For example a certain vintage or rev of the 016ETR? I have firmware upgrades for 016ETR cards (I think) on some of the orange upgrade cards. Has anyone done this? What's the firmware level that works best?

As far as phones, it's a mix of Series 1 and Series 2 Partner 18D. No MLS on site.

Are certain lots of phones better than others or does it rest soley on the 016ETR?

Does order of cards matter?

Hybrid PBX Mode 4.0.7
0=Proc
1=412TDL
2=800GDLD ID
3=016ETR
4=016ETR
5=016ETR

6=016ETR
7=MerMess R2.5

So far the majority of complaints, but not all, are coming from slot 4.

Thanks

I have always had quality problems with speakerphones on ETR boards; I fixed it by picking up MLX's and an 008 board for those who use their speakerphones a lot. I know this isn't much help but it worked out the best for me. The only good note is both the MLX phones and the board they connect to are fairly inexpensive. I actually traded the customer MLX phones for 18D's and was able to sell the 18D's for more than I paid for the MLX's.

I have put in MLX boards and phones too

People with ETR phones don't (can't) use the speakerphone because they are so bad.

Thanks guys. I was actually heading in the same direction for a fix, but was looking at TDL since I have a 412 in there to feed the 4424LD. The need for speakerphone meets the number of TDL ports that I have. I am hopeful the TDL sets will return satisfactory results and although, not the bargain that the MLX sets are, will operate as well. Thanks!
