Ok, I recently bought some RJ-45 cat5 ethernet cable to network my 2 computers together... only to realize when I get home that each computer only has one ethernet port on them... Well the main idea was to hook them together and make it so they BOTH have internet... and i really dont want to go invest the money in a hub or router right now.
I have a cable modem, and i'm wondering if it's possible to just go out and buy ANOTHER network card with an ethernet jack on it and hook that into one of my computers, so that i can run the cable modem to the computer, and then run that computer to the other? Is this possible? Or does a motherboard only have room for one network card/ethernet card? as of now I only have standard PC slots, nothing out of the ordinary besides a burner in there... any help on this situation would be much appreciated, thanks!
