Hello All,
Running along, fat dumb and happy. Started having connection problems intermittantly. Then total disconnect and not allowed to get back on. Since 3 additional systems attached to same router and no problem, seems to be in the system. Swapped cables , 3 ethernet cards to make sure, even tried different harddrive and reloaded WIN 98SE. Easy things first ! Tried NIC card in different slot on MB (seen that problem before). Still same problem ! Used command ping , system says 4 sent none returned . I beleive this also indicated not an NIC problem. Is it possible the problem could be the MB or Processor ? All other aspects of both work fine as far as I can tell !
What other options do I have ?
Thanks,
Bill

I've seen it with plug&pray. Solution was to take control away and set it up like I wanted it.
And there may be some diagnostic software for the card. If so you probably can get a low level dump test to the hub.
