What is the ethernet coupler in a MG1010 chasis designed for?
Is this device supposed to work like a hub or switch or what?

The only coupler I see talked about in the NTP is if you are converting a standard IPE shelf to an IPE shelf with an MG XPEC card and the coupler goes into the I/O panel
