Here is what I've learned. You can setup a Ethernet connection to the 11c however, I've only been able to use MAT.....Truth-be-known, I ATTEMPT to use MAT. MAT has some very ugly quirks and problems. You are suppose to be able to get commandline connection through MAT but mine quit and I haven't found the problem yet. I think it has something to do with the scripts in the 11c and I can't find out any information about these.
I have been lead to believe that the 11c will support the RLOGIN utility over ethernet but I have yet to try it.
We use this method to talk to Meridians all over the world from darkest Wiltshire in england.
Set up your port as detailed in the MAT handbook, including the PTY in LD17 ADAN. Then, using any unix RLOGIN emulator (I use ZOC or PuTTY, both available to download free from the net) connect to the IP address. You are now in at PDT level, so enter the PDT password.
If you have set up the PTY port correctly, you should be able to type "sl1input" and press return twice; you are now at your normal login screen.
Be prepared for your PTY session to be as slow as your IP network link!!!!!
Hi all
Where do you set the PDT password. I am trying to use Rlogin I am entering the wrong Pdt password. Is there a place where you set it or is there a default pass.
