Ethernet card drivers

I recently had a virus that was very destructive, I ended up having to format the entire hard drive and then reinstall windows. Since this happened i have been running the cable modem out of the USB port . My problem is that I would now like to network my house and I will need the ethernet card working to do so. Can anyone help me find the proper drivers for my gateway ehternet card? My gateway serial # is 0027693667. Thanks

Try a driver download from gateway. If I recall correctly the serial number is tied into the hardware specs for your machine.

Or look in Device Manager.
You want to see some specific manufacturer identifcation like "RealTek".

Then head to the website for the manufacturer.

There is a surprising amount of device driver information stored in the Windows Update service. Run Windows Update and see if it pulls a new device driver for you.
